The Senior Adventurer

“Whereas the tourist generally hurries back home at the end of a few weeks or months, the traveler belonging no more to one place than to the next, moves slowly over periods of years, from one part of the earth to another. Indeed, he would have found it difficult to tell, among the many places he had lived, precisely where it was he had felt most at home.” ? Paul Bowles, The Sheltering Sky

Upon retirement in 2013 from a career I no longer remember, I embarked on a series of adventures. I will be writing about my travels hoping other adventurous folks may find them of some interest and perhaps encourage a few people to travel beyond Florida and Arizona in retirement. First up was Nepal and the Annapurna Loop and Sanctuary combined Trek as well as Everest Base Camp and 2 of the 3 Passes Trek. Followed up by a 10 day meditation retreat in Thailand. Then Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos.  Since then South America, Europe, The Camino, Central America and now Ireland. I’m traveling with my backpack, some camping essentials and nothing else but a desire to explore nature and various exotic locales for as long as I am physically able. Hoping to provide information to anyone interested  in traveling to these locations. A summary is below of the 50+ countries visited:
